Shanghai: Director-General promotes skills for work and life

"Too few young people and adults are gaining the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to find decent employment in today's rapidly changing job market, where the capacity to learn and adapt is essential. This is a top political concern everywhere and it calls for concerted policies," states Irina Bokova in the Congress program. The Congress will make proposals to transform and expand TVET around the world.

In Shanghai, Irina Bokova will also sign an agreement on the establishment of an International Research and Training Center for Science and Technology Strategy (Category 2). She will visit World Heritage Sites in Suzhou, where the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research is based, and Hangzhou, where she will give the Mayor a certificate nominating it as a UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art.
